MEDIA ADVISORY: Pierpont holds Day of Service to better community (Jan. 15)

Who: Pierpont Community & Technical College Administration, Faculty, and Staff 

What: 

As a local college, Pierpont understands the importance of giving back to its community members. That is why it has launched Pierpont Serves. 

Pierpont Serves is an initiative that gives members of the Pierpont Pride the avenues to give back to North Central West Virginia communities.  

On Monday, January 15, to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Pierpont will hold its first Day of Service event of 2024 by lending a hand to local businesses, including the Union Mission and United Way. 

Pierpont will hold a commemoration ceremony at the Advanced Technology Center at 8 am to begin the day, and then employees will break off to their service projects. 

Photo and Interview Opportunities  

1. Pierpont Faculty/Staff – Members of the Pierpont team will be available for interviews and photos during the event.
2. Locations:
   1. Commemoration: 
      1. 500 Galliher Dr. Fairmont, WV 
      2. Will be held between 8am – 8:30am 
   2. Union Mission:
      1. 107 Jefferson St. Fairmont, WV 
      2. Pierpont will be there between 8am – 12pm. 
   3. Harrison County Animal Shelter:
      1. 2450 Saltwell Rd. Shinnston, WV 
      2. Pierpont will be here between 8am – 10:30am 
   4. United Way
      1. Morris Park, Fairmont, WV 
      2. Pierpont will be here between 1pm – 3pm 
   5. Vitalant Blood Drive
      1. Pierpont’s Advanced Technology Center (500 Galliher Dr. Fairmont, WV) 
      2. Pierpont will be here beginning at 9am
