West Virginia Nursery & Landscape Association adds Morgantown landscaper to its board of directors

Michael Biafore Named to Three-Year Term

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Michael R. Biafore, PLA President of Biafore Landscape Development in Morgantown, was recently elected to the board of directors of the West Virginia Nursery & Landscape Association’s (WVNLA) at its annual members meeting.

Biafore is a 1988 graduate of West Virginia University’s Landscape Architecture program, is a licensed Professional Landscape Architect in West Virginia and has operated his company for more than 26 years. Michael is a past member of the West Virginia Board of Landscape Architects, where he served as chairman for five years. He is also a past member of the Board of Directors of Mon Valley Habitat for Humanity, where he served as president for two nonconsecutive terms. He is still currently a member of the MVHFH Faith Relations Committee and Construction Committee and serves as its chair. Biafore is currently the chairman of the WVNLA Workforce Development Committee and is a member of the West Virginia University Landscape Architecture Advisory Council. His passion for the Green Industry Profession is evident in his involvement throughout the state and with his activities with the West Virginia Botanic Garden. 

Julie Robinson, WVNLA executive director, said, “We welcome Michael to our board after his leadership of our workforce development committee and long-standing commitment as a member of our association. We appreciate his enthusiasm for the profession, as our organization wants to elevate training the next generation of landscapers and designers.”

West Virginia Nursery & Landscape Association, Inc., established in 1939, is a professional trade association dedicated to supporting nursery and landscape businesses and vendors throughout the Mountain State.

WVNLA members support West Virginia college students studying horticulture and landscape architecture with scholarship opportunities. They also share expertise and support in their  communities; meet for volunteer projects; and support worthy, industry-related endeavors through Association donations. Regionally, WVNLA co-owns the annual Mid-Atlantic Nursery Trade Show along with the Maryland and Virginia associations.
