CHARLESTON — The West Virginia State Auditor’s Office launched a fully redesigned official website Wednesday, offering expanded access to services, financial data and updates from the office, according to a news release.
The office said the new site provides improved access to transparency tools that allow residents to view state expenditures, revenues and other fiscal information. The Auditor, described in the release as the state’s constitutional bookkeeper, oversees financial functions intended to ensure the lawful and responsible use of public funds.
According to the release, the redesigned site includes expanded access to public financial documents, audit reports and related records. It also offers improved access to services for local governments, payroll, county collections, securities oversight and fraud reporting. A new “What’s New” tab provides regular updates for residents and media, including access to all press releases from the office.
“Our goal is to make West Virginians feel empowered and informed regarding the management of their funds. It brings key forms, information and updates into one place so people can quickly find what they need,” State Auditor Mark Hunt said in the release. “It allows full transparency and gives the people a simpler way to connect with the State Auditor’s Office.”
The site is available at wvsao.gov . The Auditor’s Office invited the public to explore the new platform.
