Contractors Association of West Virginia Selects New Officers

Charleston, West Virginia – Shannon Hapuarachy, SMH Construction Company, Inc., Beckley,has been elected president of the Contractors Association of West Virginia (CAWV). He succeeds Mark Urso, Bear Contracting, LLC, Clarksburg, who will serve on the Board of Directors as immediate past president.

Serving with Mr. Hapuarachy as officers for the upcoming year are:

  • Derick Foster,Paramount Builders, LLC, St. Albans, senior vice president;
  • James Scott Pierson, Remnant Contracting, Milton, vice president;
  • Jason Kitzmiller, ALL Construction, Inc., Petersburg, treasurer; and
  • Courtney Persinger, Persinger & Associates, Inc., Charleston, secretary.

The members also elected Matthew Bourne, March-Westin Company, Inc., Morgantown; Ryan Cocco, Kokosing Construction Company, Inc., Westerville, Ohio; and Brandon Duriez, Snyder Environmental Services, Kearneysville, as members of the Board of Directors to represent their respective divisions.

In addition, CAWV elected chairs of its four divisions:

  • Building Division: Ryan Mayo, Neighborgall Construction Company, Huntington;
  • Highway and Heavy Division: Jason Workman, Mountaineer Contractors, Inc., Kingwood;
  • Municipal and Utilities Division: Rob LaFon, Famco, Inc., Huntington; and
  • Associate Division: Taylor Johnson, Mountain State Insurance Agency, Charleston.

Finally, Mr. Hapuarachy appointed the following as at-large members of the Board of Directors that coincides with his term:

  • Joe Camp, 84 Lumber Company, Charleston;
  • Kylea Radcliff, Thrasher Group, Bridgeport;
  • Ashley Lioi, Kanawha Stone Company, Poca; and
  • Steve Diehl, Triton Construction, St. Albans.

CAWV is the state’s largest full-service construction trade association representing over 500 member companies and almost 22,000 employees in all segments of the construction industry. CAWV is the state chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America and the American Road and Transportation Builders Association.
