Member newspapers and their editorial and advertising staff members are encouraged to participate in the West Virginia Press Association Legal Hotline, which offers counsel — at no cost — related to FOIA requests, advertising content, libel and related issues. This can include questions about letters to the editor, open meetings, advertising content or general legal information.
Participating newspapers fund this valuable service by contributing an annual fee equal to the cost of a single quarter-page ad. The contribution is withheld from advertising payment from the WVPS, unless otherwise directed.
