BECKLEY, W.Va. — Michael Zeto, the former chief of the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection’s Office of Environmental Enforcement, has joined Alliance Consulting, Inc.,
Prior to Zeto’s retirement from WVDEP in December 2013, he spent over 34 years with the agency, with the last 22 as chief inspector of the Office of Environmental Enforcement.
Alliance Consulting, Inc. is a multi-disciplinary civil engineering and environmental consulting firm. The company announced Zeto’s move on Tuesday. Alliance has offices in Beckley, Summersville and Canonsburg, Pa., Alliance states that the company integrates engineering, environmental, ecological and permitting services to complete turnkey projects for a variety of clients, with a particular focus on the energy industry.
“Mike’s vast regulatory and problem-solving experience in water pollution control, solid waste management, groundwater protection, hazardous waste management, underground storage tanks and dam safety merged with the numerous existing capabilities of Alliance Consulting, Inc. provides current and future clients an array of skills to aid in the fulfillment of its regulatory responsibilities,” an Alliance Consulting official said.
“Our staff of engineers, geologists, biologists, and environmental professionals are capable of taking projects from conception to construction. In-house staff have experience dealing with site location and routing issues, water quality testing, water supply investigations, stream and wetland delineations, endangered species surveys, stream and wetland mitigation, site design, erosion and sediment control, impoundment and dam design, surveying services, construction monitoring, as well as all aspects of state and federal permitting. Since 2010 Alliance personnel have completed over 1,000 energy projects, including pipeline projects, well pad, and impoundment designs,” officials said.
