‘Brew Skies Festival’ features live music and W.Va. microbrew

THOMAS, W.Va. – Fans of live music and West Virginia craft beers will again have the chance to experience both at the third annual “Brew Skies Festival” Friday and Saturday, July 25th & 26th, at Canaan Valley State Park.

Sponsored by Mountain State Brewing Co. in Thomas, WV, the festival features a number of regional bands, as well as some nationally known acts: Philadelphia’s own American Babies headline, with Larry Keel Experience, Cabinet, Bumper Jacksons and Grand Ole Ditch.

“With the local craft beer scene still on the rise, Brew Skies really seems to be gaining in popularity entering just our third year,” said Stephen Dilettoso of Mountain State Brewing Co. “Not only for the event itself, but Canaan Valley and the surrounding area has so much to offer – camping, hiking, mountain biking and even accommodations at the lodge on the festival grounds. And the weather has cooperated in the past – for the most part – which makes for a fun weekend all around.”

As with previous years, all West Virginia Breweries are invited to attend. There will be some new faces.  In addition to the brews from Mountain State Brewing Co., attendees can sample beers from Greenbrier Valley Brewing, Morgantown Brewing Co., Lost River Brewing, Chestnut Brew Works, Blackwater Brewing, Big Timber Brewing and Wheeling Brewing Co.

Food vendors will include Canaan Valley State Park BBQ, El Gran Sabor, White Grass Cafe & McVicker’s Kickers, with a number of local artisan and craft vendors.

Music will go from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Friday, and 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. Saturday. In addition to the headlining acts, the lineup includes regional favorites The Davisson Brothers Band, Shane Meade & The Sound, The Tom Batchelor Band, West By God, A Wisdom of Owls and more.
