ELKINS, W.Va. — Each Spring visitors to the Elkins Depot Welcome Center are greeted by a train whistle and the smell of ramps as the location hosts the annual Ramps & Rail Festival in honor of two of the region’s historic features.
The mountains around the Randolph County community are covered with wild ramps and traversed by railroad tracks. On April 25, enthusiasts of both ramps and rails will gather at the Elkins Depot and Town Square for the annual celebration.
The day includes train rides on the New Tygart Flyer and food vendors features numerous ramp dishes, live music and entertainment and arts and crafts displays. For times and full schedule, visit http://elkinsdepot.com/2015-ramps-and-rail-festival/
