Morgan County woman arrested for intimidating witness in murder case

BERKELEY SPRINGS — The former live-in girlfriend of accused murderer Wesley McCoy was arrested by the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department on Saturday, September 6 and charged with witness intimidation and possession of heroin. Brittany Nicole Clark, 29, of Berkeley Springs is being held at Eastern Regional Jail in lieu of $20,000 bond.

According to police, one of the witnesses to the August 19 fatal stabbing of Justin Buell advised the Sheriff’s Department that Brittany Clark had been harassing him and trying to get him to change his statement about the events of the night of the murder. Points Mentioned

At the time of the stabbing, multiple witnesses told police that Clark had called friends for help earlier that night after a fight between the couple. Several men came to the room where Wesley McCoy and Clark lived to get some of her belongings for her.

According to police, a fight broke out between McCoy and Justin Buell, one of the men who had come to help Clark. Witnesses said McCoy then chased Buell out of the house on South Washington Street, around several cars at the Douglas car lot along U.S. 522, then back toward the road, where he stabbed Buell in the neck.
