Secretary of State to present update on election cybersecurity at National Association of State Technology Directors on Wednesday
Charleston, W.Va. – Secretary of State Mac Warner has been asked to address technology professionals from all over the country at the annual meeting of the National Association of State Technology Directors – Eastern Region.
Secretary Warner will be addressing the Association at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15t, at The Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs, WV.
From the WVSOS office: After a 23-year military career in the United States Army and having served as WV Secretary of State since January of 2017, Warner has become recognized as a national leader in election cybersecurity. Under his leadership, West Virginia became the first Secretary of State in the nation to dedicate a full time IT professional with a Top Secret Security Clearance to monitor election security at a state Fusion Center. Then last year, West Virginia became the first state in the nation’s history to successfully deploy a mobile voting application for overseas and military voters.
Warner will discuss the future of election cybersecurity, foreign influence in elections and military mobile voting.
