Davis, W.Va. – All 55 counties will be participating in a three-day conference this week to prepare for the 2026 elections.
WV Secretary of State Kris Warner and his Elections Division staff will be hosting more than 180 County Clerks, Deputy Clerks, and election administrators at Canaan Valley Resort August 18, 19, and 20. The conference will focus on election legislation recently passed by the legislature, voter registration, federal guidelines, absentee voting, election day preparation, ADA compliance for polling locations, canvassing, and election night reporting.
The 2026 Primary Election in West Virginia is set for Tuesday, May 12.

The conference will begin at 8:00am on Monday, August 18. That day will include in-depth discussions and training sessions and will run until dinner at 6:30pm.
On Tuesday, August 19, the conference will run from 8:00am until 5:00pm and will include the presentations from the speakers listed above.
