Nonprofit Day at the Capitol – February 18, 2026 Lower Rotunda | 9:30 AM
The West Virginia Nonprofit Association (WVNPA) will host Nonprofit Day at the Capitol on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, bringing nonprofit leaders from across the state to Charleston to highlight the impact of the nonprofit sector and meet directly with legislators.

Opening remarks will begin at 9:30 AM in the Lower Rotunda, followed by scheduled meetings with lawmakers throughout the day.
Nonprofits in West Virginia address food security, housing stability, healthcare access, education, workforce development, and emergency assistance in every county. Collectively, the sector employs thousands of West Virginians and reinvests resources directly into local communities.
A central focus of this year’s event will be the renewal of the Neighborhood Investment Program (NIP) through House Bill 5382. Since its launch in 1997, NIP has generated nearly $137 million in charitable donations, supporting more than 4,400 community-based projects serving low-income individuals and distressed neighborhoods. View all of NIP’s information, here.
As the state’s only tax incentive for charitable giving, NIP represents a long-standing public-private partnership that strengthens neighborhoods across West Virginia
The purpose of Nonprofit Day at the Capitol is to:
● Highlight the essential role and economic impact of the nonprofit sector.
● Share local impact stories directly with legislators.
● Strengthen relationships between the nonprofit and legislative communities to support future collaboration.

Media are invited to attend opening remarks in the Lower Rotunda and connect with nonprofit leaders from across the state. Interviews with WVNPA leadership and participating nonprofit organizations will be available upon request.
