CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Members of Cabell Midland High School’s Marching Knights stayed in step Wednesday as they were recognized in the West Virginia Senate.
The Senate approved a resolution honoring the band’s more than 20 years of accomplishments during its regular session Wednesday morning.
Among the band’s accomplishments listed in the resolution are 87 marching band grand championships, six Marshall University Tri-State Marching Band Championships, being the featured band for 11 years at the Joyful Night Program at the state Capitol and being an eight-time winner of the West Virginia Black Walnut Festival Honor Band award.
The band also has performed in Canada, the Bahamas, Mexico and Belize.
The resolution was sponsored by Sen. Bob Plymale, D-Wayne, Sen. Mike Woelfel, D-Cabell, Sen. Ron Stollings, D-Boone, and Sen. Greg Boso, R-Nicholas.
