Reserve judgment on Obama visit until we hear him

BECKLEY, W.Va. — Count us among those surprised when it was announced that President Barack Obama would be visiting West Virginia this week.

The man gets daily press briefings, so he must know that not too many state residents are fans, blaming him and his Environmental Protection Agency for the current ill state of coal mining.

 Unless he’s coming to announce a rollback of the Clean Coal Power initiative, many are left wondering why in the world he would step foot in West Virginia.

Just as we are certain President Obama knows how much he is disliked in the Mountain State, we also suspect he is up to speed on the ghastly effects substance abuse are wreaking in West Virginia.

And so we ask the many naysayers to give him a chance when he comes to Charleston Wednesday to address that issue…
