WVU launches ‘Mountaineers Go First’ campaign

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — At the beginning of February, WVU launched a new campaign which, according to President E. Gordon Gee, “will reposition the university on a national stage” and “talk about aspirations to develop a clear understanding of the university’s values.”

The Mountaineers Go First campaign, still in its beginning stages, Gee said, is being spearheaded by Sharon Martin, vice president of University Relations.

She said, during a Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 10, interview, that it is based on research and seeks to explain what it means to be a mountaineer.
