FAIRMONT, W.Va. — West Virginia University Healthcare has announced the purchase of property in Marion County.
Judie Charlton, chief medical officer of WVU Healthcare, said the new facility will be located adjacent to exit 136 off I-79.
Charlton said the building has not received a name yet, but it will be a physicians’ office for patients to visit.
“We’re really inspired to invest in the health and well-being in Marion County,” Charlton said. “We are a land-grant institution, and it’s our mission to serve the state.”

She mentioned that purchasing this land in Marion County is a part of WVU Healthcare’s initiative to move closer to its patients to serve their needs.
