CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — More people are buying firearms and taking elective training in anticipation of the concealed carry law going into effect June 5.
Law enforcement officers also are becoming more prepared, believing it will be more likely than ever that residents are carrying guns.
The state constitutional carry law allows those 21 and over to carry a concealed weapon without a permit. There will still be places that prohibit persons from carrying a gun, according to policies already in place, officials have said. These include courthouses, some city halls, hospitals and some business establishments.
Persons ages 18-20 must still obtain a permit to carry a concealed weapon.
