CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The state Public Service Commission late Wednesday night announced it had approved a 15 percent rate hike for West Virginia American Water Company customers across Southern West Virginia.
Shortly before midnight, commissioners issued an order granting the water company an increase of $18.17 million in water rates. An average customer will see an increase of about $6.26 a month, the commission said in a press release.
