Williamson plans ‘PokeFest’ this weekend

WILLIAMSON, W.Va. – If you or someone you know thinks the Pokemon Go app is “all the rage” and take advantage of every free moment you have to chase those little creatures, then you can’t miss PokeFest Saturday evening in downtown Williamson.

With several cities and towns surrounding the Mingo-Pike area hosting events and setting up charging stations, event organizer Tonya Webb thought it would be a good idea and great economic boost for Williamson.

The event will kick off in downtown at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and will last until 9:00 p.m.

Inflatables and vendors will be set up along second avenue from the Health and Wellness Center to the intersection of the Harvey Street Bridge.

Homer Mullins a DJ with No Limit Entertainment will be set up on stage in front of the Mingo County courthouse for the entire event.

Nathan Varney, owner of Page 3 Game Zone in Pikeville, Ky will have a tent will be set up in the area of Pike Street and second avenue around Justin Marcum’s Law Office.

Varney will be teaching players how to play the Pokemon card game…
