BECKLEY, W.Va. — “Patience” was the word of the day for West Virginia Secretary of State Natalie Tennant as she visited The Register-Herald Thursday to discuss the May primary election.
That is what voters will need, Tennant said, as she spoke about the primary ballot, which will be the longest ballot voters have seen in some time, especially GOP voters.
In addition to candidates for every national, state and county position but one, there are 220 people running for at-large bids to serve as a delegate at the Republican National Convention (July 18-21 in Cleveland,.
“Democrats will not have as much difficulty as Republicans will,” Tennant said.
Tennant emphasized that voters must be sure to go all the way to the end of the ballot, as races for circuit judges, family court judges, magistrates and justices for the Supreme Court of Appeals are place at the bottom.
Tennant stressed this point because, for the first time, all judiciary seats will be final with the vote totals in May…
