Closed signs hang on the Ryan’s restaurant in Beckley on Monday. The restaurant closed without notifying its employees.
BECKLEY, W.Va. — When Ronnie McKinney showed up to wash dishes Monday at Ryan’s, he was shocked by what was taped to the front doors.
“To our valued guests, This location is now closed. Thank you for our business and we hope to serve you at another location very soon,” a signed on the door read.
McKinney, who worked at the restaurant for three months, asked the question scores of other Ryan workers were asking Monday, “Why did they close?” followed quickly by the realization that “I don’t have a job.”
McKinney worked his last shift Mother’s Day Sunday. He said when he left, management did not mentioned anything about closing…
