BLUEFIELD, W.Va. — Even the remote possibility of great wealth spur dreams of what one would do with hundreds of millions of dollars.
Lottery officials expect to see approximately 1.5 million Powerball tickets to be sold in Virginia alone to people hoping to win a huge $450 million jackpot on Wednesday. People shopping Monday at the Mercer Mall had plenty of ideas for those millions if they became lucky enough to guess the winning numbers.
“He does all the time,” added friend Chelsey Hazel.
“Take care of my family,” Rhodes replied when asked what he would do with the jackpot. “That’s what I would end up doing with it.”
Misty Cox, 26, of Princeton would use the money to do something for the entire community. Her project would involve the region’s problem with drug abuse.
