LOGAN, W.Va. — After receiving help during flooding events throughout the years, Logan County has acted in kind by shipping 75 mattresses to flood ravaged areas throughout West Virginia.
At the July 5 meeting of the Logan County Commission (LCC), Logan County Administrator Rocky Adkins explained the county had recently been exploring ways to fulfill needs commonly left unmet after natural disasters.
“When people use all the cleaning supplies and get all the mud out of their houses, they often realize they are left without furniture and don’t even have a place to sleep. People had been sleeping on plastic bags full of clothes,” added Adkins.
Adkins the LCC and Senator Art Kirkendoll contacted the local furniture store McCormick’s and worked out a deal for 75 mattress sets to be special built by a factory in Huntington…
