HUNTINGTON — West Virginia typically leads the nation in a lot of negative categories, like obesity and more recently in the news, drug overdoses.
However, West Virginia also leads the country in the fight against the drug epidemic, which was highlighted by President Barack Obama’s visit in October and again Tuesday when NBC News and Reuters featured Huntington neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) center Lily’s Place in an investigative report.
Reuters released the three-part story by Duff Wilson and John Shiffman Monday night on its website and the “Today” show played the accompanying segment Tuesday morning.
