BECKLEY, W.Va. — Less than two months after reopening, the Veterans Clinic in Maxwelton is once again closed.
Beckley VA Medical Center director Karin L. McGraw announced the immediate closure of the facility late Monday, citing continuing air quality issues in the clinic. Both McGraw and the building’s owner, the Greenbrier Valley Economic Development Corporation (GVEDC), indicated that the air quality issues were resolved when the clinic reopened Feb. 27.
“The safety and health of the veterans, their families and our staff remain our foremost concern,” McGraw said. “The Beckley VAMC is committed to the veterans served at the Greenbrier CBOC and will explore all options available to determine a viable and speedy resolution.”
The clinic, which serves more than 1,700 veterans in the Greenbrier Valley region and Allegheny County in Virginia, will remain closed for an “undetermined” time…
