BLUEFIELD, W.Va. — A new center offering people battling addiction the opportunity to change their lives and leave drugs and alcohol behind opened its doors Monday in Mercer County.
The Four Seasons Recovery Center in Bluefield is now established in the former Preston Street School. Director Terry Danielson said clients at the all-male facility were getting settled into their quarters, and more are expected soon.
“Somebody upon entry is considered a client, just like they would be anywhere else,” Danielson said. “The first two came (Monday,) and then we have eight coming (today), and then we have an additional four coming next Monday. Then we have six individuals waiting to get the OK from either their probation, parole or drug court, to fill the remaining six slots for our first 20. The hope is to have 20 around the first or second week of July, and then we’re aiming to be around 40 the end of August or first of September.”
