MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Local dignitaries gathered Sept. 1, to dedicate and open the area’s newest interstate interchange.
Officials gathered near the new Rosie the Riveters Memorial Bridge, which spans above Interstate 79 near the 153 mile marker. They were to dedicate the bridge and the Coach Bill Stewart Exit.
The bridge and the interchange provide another access point for the University Town Centre.
The interchange cost $22 million, according to Department of Transportation data. Developers are planning future commercial and retail development on the side of the bridge across from the University Town Centre.
