MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The WVU football team will be bowling out West in January.
School officials confirmed Sunday, Dec. 6, the Mountaineers will play in the Cactus Bowl, which is played at Chase Field in Phoenix, on Jan. 2.
It will be WVU’s first time playing in the Cactus Bowl.
The Mountaineers’ opponent: Arizona State, whose campus is located just minutes from Chase Field.
Kickoff is scheduled for 10:15 p.m. The game will be televised by ESPN.
Arizona State, from the Pac-12 Conference, finished 6-6 and is coached by Todd Graham, who was a linebackers coach at WVU under former head coach Rich Rodriguez…
