FAIRLEA, W.Va. — Expanding to 10 days this year, the State Fair of West Virginia offers fun for the entire family, from the time the gates open at 9 a.m. this Friday until the exposition ends at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23.
This year’s grandstand entertainment will kick off in grand style with the return of perennial State Fair favorite Alabama, for a sold-out 8 p.m. show on Friday night. Once practically a fixture at the fair, Alabama last appeared at the exposition in 2001, capping off a run of four performances here in a five-year span.
In addition to music, during the fair’s final weekend the grandstand will be home to such entertainment as the Buckin’ B Bull Ride with Craig Wayne Boyd (at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 22) and FMX Motocross (at 3 p.m. Aug. 23).
More entertainment can be found every day throughout the fairgrounds, with lumberjack and magic shows, music performances and more on the fair’s Center Stage, and harness racing, horse and pony shows and the ever-popular draft horse pull.
Head for the barns for even more livestock shows and competitions…
