ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Marshall University football player Chase Litton was smiling when he stepped off the team bus from the airport to the Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront Hotel at about 1:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Those smiles were short-lived, however, as the freshman quarterback from Tampa, Fla., was swarmed by local media and reporters who traveled to cover the St. Petersburg Bowl between Marshall (9-3) and Connecticut (6-6) at 11 a.m. Saturday in Tropicana Field.
Even in the familiar setting of the Tampa/St. Petersburg area, the Marshall quarterback was all about business.
While the game is a celebration for both teams of accomplishments throughout the year, it is a benchmark game for both sides – albeit in different ways.
Marshall is attempting to finish with 10 wins for the third consecutive season…
