CHARLESTON, W.Va. — West Virginia public health officials have confirmed the state’s first case of Zika virus in a pregnant woman, bringing the total number of West Virginians who have contracted the mosquito-borne illness up to eight.
According to the West Virginia Bureau for Public Health, the woman traveled on a mission trip to a country where the virus is commonly found.
