CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Since the recent confirmed total of eight reported Zika virus cases in West Virginia, officials are stressing the importance of insect repellent and environmental awareness.
Mark Povroznik, chief quality officer and the chairman of infection control with United Hospital Center, said as people carrying the Zika virus enter the state, the chance is greater that the mosquitoes in West Virginia will match with a carrier and spread the virus further.
