BECKLEY, W.Va. — Entrepreneurs and small businesses in southern West Virginia were recognized and celebrated Friday at Historic Black Knight Municipal Park during West Virginia Hive’s annual open house and awards ceremony.
This year’s ceremony acknowledged the success of nine businesses from a variety of industries that have all received support from West Virginia Hive.
WV Hive is the entrepreneurship program of the New River Gorge Regional Development Authority and offers everything from business advising to training programs and other business resources.
Its 13-county service area includes Raleigh, Fayette, Summers, Nicholas, Webster, Greenbrier, Pocahontas, Monroe, Mercer, McDowell, Wyoming, Logan and Mingo counties.
One of the businesses recognized by WV Hive this year was Auntie E’s Custom Order Bakery, which is based in Beckley and owned by Erica Bowden.
