CHARLESTON, W.Va. — No West Virginia team in Minor League Baseball made the top 25 list for merchandise sales last year, although a competitor of the West Virginia Power did.

The Columbia Fireflies of the South Atlantic League made the Top 25 list that was released June 12 on milb.com. Teams were listed alphabetically. No sales figures for individual teams were disclosed.

Along with the Power, the West Virginia Black Bears, the Princeton Rays and the Bluefield Blue Jays fell short of making the list.

According to milb.com, the 160 teams in Minor League Baseball set a record last year with more than $68.3 million in retail sales.

Among Major League teams of regional interest to West Virginia, teams on the list were the Dayton Dragons and the Louisville Bats (Reds); Indianapolis Indians (Pirates); and the Columbus Clippers (Indians).
