Wooton files to run for District 9 West Virginia Senate seat

BECKLEY, W.Va. — Democrat Bill Wooton has filed to return to the West Virginia State Senate – where he served for 12 years, including 10 as chairman of the powerful Senate Judiciary Committee. Wooton also served in the House of Delegates, including a term as House Majority Leader and a term as Majority Whip.

Wooton, a Beckley lawyer, and his wife Shir, a local artist, are the parents of three sons and five grandchildren. They are members of Joyful Life Baptist Church.
Wooton stated: “I sincerely believe my experience and proven leadership makes me the person best able to represent the people of the 9th District in the State Senate. I am asking the voters to Let Bill Wooton work for you in the State Senate.”

Bill Wooton is a member the Board of Directors of the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce, Beckley Rotary Club, American Legion,  Moose Club and the National Rifle Association. And he is a life member of the Military Officers of America Association and the National Guard Association of the United States.
