MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — West Virginia Secretary of Transportation Tom Smith was in the Eastern Panhandle Thursday touring the MARC commuter train stations and speaking to the Jefferson County Commission and Berkeley County Council about contributing funds to keep the Brunswick Line running into the West Virginia.
“We’re making a request today, but we don’t expect an answer today,” Smith told members of the Berkeley County Council. “We’re trying to assemble a funding package, and it must happen quickly.”
He delivered a similar statement to Jefferson County officials.
