CHARLESTON, W.Va.  — The Senate Judiciary Committee wrapped up its work on the intermediate appeals court bill on Feb. 1 and sent it on to the Finance Committee.

The panel tacked on several amendments to SB 341 on Jan. 31, then reviewed the bill Feb. 1. Members offered a few final comments before their voice vote.

Among the amendments: Judges will initially serve staggered terms of six, eight and 10 years. Following those, judges will serve full 10-year terms but the rotation will be staggered based on the initial terms.
