CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia attorney general is seeking proposals from lawyers to help the staff with the investigation and review of potential claims by state agencies from the Intercontinental Export and Import Plastics fire in October.
The deadline for proposals is Feb. 6.
The fire at the plastics facility started in the early morning of Oct. 21, sending a plume of thick black smoke hundreds of feet into the air where it was carried away by the prevailing wind. Residents reported seeing the smoke as far north as Cambridge, Ohio.
