Troopers looking for help in trying to solve homicide of Braxton County woman found March 17

SUTTON, W.Va. (WV News) — West Virginia State Police troopers are asking for help in trying to solve the homicide of a 36-year-old Braxton County woman.

Troopers from the Sutton Detachment recovered the body on March 17 in a rural area of Vernon, Braxton County, and later identified that they’d found Belinda Dawn Riffle. The investigation remains ongoing, and foul play is suspected, according to 1st Sgt. K.H. Totten, district commander for Troop 3, District 3, in Glenville.

Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact the State Police Sutton Detachment at 304-765-2101, or can call their local 911 center and ask for their information to be relayed.
