Tamarack to host pumpkin painting contest

BECKLEY, W.Va. — As part of its Spooktacular festival, Tamarack is hosting a pumpkin painting contest.

Members of the public are invited to enter the contest, and the first 100 people to register will receive a free t-shirt.

Pumpkins are now available for purchase at Tamarack for $10. The contest registration fee is included in the price of the pumpkin.

Registration is $10 for participants who bring a pumpkin not purchased at Tamarack.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners of each age group. Age groups are 13 and younger and 14 and older.

Pumpkins will be on display at Tamarack during Spooktacular Oct. 19-29.

Painted pumpkin participants are asked to drop off their pumpkins at Tamarack between Oct. 19 and Oct. 24 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Winners will be announced Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. in Tamarack’s courtyard during the Awards Scaremony.

Pumpkins that are entered from Oct. 19-23 are entered in the early bird registration drawing for a $100 cash prize and dinner for two at Tamarack.
