CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Senate President-elect Mitch Carmichael, R-Jackson, has selected the chairmen and vice chairmen of Senate committees for the upcoming legislative session. The newly chosen leadership team will assume their duties upon being sworn in January 11, 2017.
“I am very proud of the leadership team we have assembled going into this session. I will be relying on them heavily to help us guide the Senate as we work to improve our state,” Senate President-elect Carmichael said. “We have a balance of seasoned legislators and new members taking on some of these roles. I believe each of these kinds of people bring tremendous value to the table. These roles require time and dedication above and beyond their ordinary duties as a Senator, and I am grateful to those members who have accepted the challenge.”
