WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., released the following statement following the U.S. Senate confirmation of Robert Powelson and Neil Chatterjee to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
“I am encouraged that Robert Powelson and Neil Chatterjee have been confirmed to serve as FERC Commissioners. These confirmations effectively restore the quorum at FERC, an important step in ensuring this key independent agency can get back to work,” Sen. Manchin said. “Earlier this year I brought to President Trump’s attention the lack of a quorum at FERC and have worked to ensure these critical posts are filled so that West Virginia can continue to participate in our energy’s future while ensuring a reliable electric grid and fair rates for energy consumers.”
