Road Bond Editorial: The Wheeling News-Register says vote ‘Yes’

From The Wheeling News-Register:

Vote ‘Yes’ and monitor road project spending

No doubt some unscrupulous operators are eager to see West Virginians approve a $1.6 billion road bond issue. The possibilities for fraud and other chicanery are limitless.
Voters in our area should say yes to the bond issue, as we have emphasized. It is good for the Northern Panhandle.
Now, voters have a reason for confidence the bond money will be spent honestly.
Last week, state Auditor J.B. McCuskey’s office revealed that if the bonds are issued, it will use its website to track all road construction expenditures, in a way members of the public can use to monitor individual projects.Good for McCuskey.
His plan offers taxpayers a reassuring opportunity to be watchdogs over how our money is spent.
