CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Republicans maintained their monopoly on West Virginia’s delegation in the U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday, as incumbent Reps. Alex Mooney and David McKinley were joined by longtime state legislator Carol Miller.
According to preliminary election results from the Associated Press, none of the three Democrats came within 10 points of ousting any Republicans.
Mooney defeated Democrat Talley Sergent and Mountain Party candidate Daniel Lutz in the 2nd Congressional District. He will continue to serve the district, which he first won in 2014, for another two years.
