SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. – On Monday, April 18, U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) will present congressional certificates to members of the South Charleston High School robotics team. Senator Capito will honor Alex Casto, Alex Sanchez and Shannon Joins. This week, Shannon represented West Virginia at the White House Science Fair.
The team was named a co-winner of the Zero Robotics competition at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they competed against 400 teams worldwide. The competition was sponsored by NASA and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.
