CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A Maryland company filed an $800,000 lawsuit Wednesday against companies tied to The Greenbrier resort for an alleged failure to pay for services and equipment.

In a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia, Select Event Group Inc. claimed it provided special event related services and equipment in July 2016 for Old White Charities, which puts on The Greenbrier Classic golf tournament each summer.

The lawsuit names both OWC and the Greenbrier Hotel Corporation.

Select Event Group alleged the defendants owe roughly $755,000. It is asking for the full unpaid amount, roughly $55,000 in interest, any further interest that accumulates between Wednesday and a judgment date, legal fees and court costs.

A spokesman for The Greenbrier did not respond to a request for comment for this report.
