MIDDLEWAY, W.Va. — The Jefferson County Foundation hosted a public forum concerning the Mountain Pure water bottling facility last Friday at Grace Episcopal Church in Middleway.
The community gathered to learn more about the project, ask questions and learn about the next steps people are taking.
The Jefferson County Foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports sustainable development and protection of the people and environment of Jefferson County by providing support and guidance. The meeting’s discussion was led by the foundation’s president, Christine Wimer. She started by sharing an overview on the water bottling facility project, including how the Charles Town Utility Board (CTUB) will be involved.
Wimer explained that though the foundation is against the project entirely, because it believes that the facility goes against proper zoning, it does support CTUB’s agreement with Sidewinder Enterprises, the business that will be building and maintaining the facility.
