CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Vote No on Amendment One, a political group, filed a lawsuit against West Virginia Secretary of State Mac Warner in federal court Monday.
According to the lawsuit, two women with the organization were standing more than 100 feet from the Mountaineer Mall, an early voting location in Morgantown, in compliance with the instructions of a poll worker. There, they were engaging with voters and passing out literature encouraging a vote against Amendment 1.
However, Warner personally told the women someone had filed a complaint and advised them they could not be anywhere on the property of the polling location, according to the lawsuit.
