FAIRMONT, W.Va.  — West Virginia is one step closer to being one of 12 states in the nation that allows individuals to carry concealed weapons on college campuses.

Recently, the House Education Committee passed House Bill 4298, “The Campus Self-Defense Act,” which would amend the state’s current laws and rescind the ability of public higher education institutions to prohibit weapons on their premises, and it may soon be brought before the full House.

Campus leaders share their thoughts
