WHEELING, W.Va. — The Intelligencer and Wheeling News-Register, award-winning dailies in West Virginia’s Northern Panhandle, are seeking an up-and-coming sports reporter.
“We focus on local high school sports played in the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference, one of the largest conferences in the nation. The ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers also call our city home, as does one of NCAA Division II’s top basketball programs, the West Liberty University Hilltoppers, ” a spokesperson said. “Primary duties include game coverage and feature writing, along with pagination one or two days per week. We work on deadlines each and every day, so attention to detail is a must.”

Salary is negotiable; we offer health/dental benefits, paid vacation, and a 401(k) program.
Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and resume, along with work samples, to Managing Editor John McCabe [email protected] or via regular mail at
